I was recently allowed to test the Bobba Bars Dog Soap in Rosemary, but I also received the Paw Balm of this very nice Dutch brand, to review. A blog about that today!
Disclaimer: I was sent this product to test and review. My opinion is my own, I will not be influenced and will always give my honest opinion about a product. This way I can guarantee the integrity of this blog 🙂
First impression
The balm comes in a nice round tin which is well filled. There is hardly any smell, but of course that isn’t needed either! It’s about the effect, not the smell. The sticker states the ingredients, how much is in the tin, and that the product is handmade in the Netherlands. Nice and clear!
The ingredients are all natural, there are various butters, waxes and oils in the balm, none of which are harmful when a little is licked up by the dog. It’s not a disaster if you have dogs like mine, who always have to ‘taste’ something new, haha!
Why paw balm?
A paw balm can be used all year round. In the summer it is a nice product when your dog has dry foot pads and chaps, and in the winter it protects against brine and ice. Of course, your dog can also have dry paw pads in the winter, so this is a super nice product to have in the house, especially in the winter!
Such a balm helps to restore or maintain the natural suppleness of the foot pads, and that suppleness in turn ensures that the paws are more resistant to external influences, such as asphalt and road salt.
Use
The balm is quite hard, so it’s best to get a little out of the tin with your nail. You can rub that bit between your hands to warm it up, then apply it to the pads of your dog’s feet and between your dog’s toes. When used this way, some of the balm remains on your hands and that is of course a bit of a shame. Applying directly to the paws (without warming up in your hands first) might also be an option for some people, but I didn’t like that.
Idunn and Herja have recently had some wounds on their foot pads, so this was, after the wounds had almost healed of course, an excellent opportunity to test the Bobba Bars paw balm on their feet. After a good two weeks of regular use, I see a significant difference in their foot pads, they look almost completely back to normal! The girls also seem to enjoy a foot massage, so it was no problem at all to get the product on their feet.
Where to buy?
You can order the Bobba Bars Paw Balm via the Bobba Bars webshop: https://www.bobba-bars.nl/products/bobba-bars-potenbalsem
Fijn product, zowel ‘s zomers als ‘s winters!
Because the balm is hard, applying it before you go for a walk (especially when you have several dogs like me) is a bit cumbersome, hence not the full house of points, but it is a super fine product that I can wholeheartedly recommend !
