I recently received two products from Borvo Nutrients, the Micro Algae blend for adult dogs, and the Spirulina. Over the past month, our girls have extensively tested both products, and today I’m writing my blog about it!
Disclaimer: I was sent this product to test and review. My opinion is my own, I will not be influenced and will always give my honest opinion about a product. This way I can guarantee the integrity of this blog 🙂
Borvo Nutrients
Borvo is located in Ireland. They make and sell various types of Super Foods for dogs, nutritional supplements. Borvo is a Celtic god, they write on their website, the god of healing and spring (water), and that is also what they want to achieve with their products: optimal health for dogs. Sounds good!
Spirulina
Borvo writes about the Spirulina on the website that it boosts the dog’s immune system, that it is full of proteins, vitamins B1, B2, and B3, and various minerals. It contains antioxidants and improves and strengthens the muscles and the immune system. It also improves the skin and coat, and I have noticed the latter in particular over the past month. The girls’ fur was even softer and shinier than usual. Moreover, they found the Spirulina really delicious! When I added this powder to meals, that part of the meal always was guzzled up first. I always only put these kind of supplement over part of the meal, I don’t spread it over the whole meal, so if they didn’t like it they could have simply eaten around it. They didn’t, on the contrary! The part where the powder lay was always eaten first.
I haven’t noticed much of the immune system benefits, but I suspect that’s because my girls are all in excellent health.
European Micro Algae
Borvo writes on their website about the Microalgae blend that it contains a lot of good nutrients. Chlorella contains proteins, amino acids, and antioxidants. Nannochloropsis contains a lot of omega 3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. They further write that their microalgae blend supports and improves cognitive function, supports bones, joints and muscles, and is again good for skin and coat.
This blend also went well with the girls! Even the cat was interested in it, haha!
The time in which I have tested this product is too short to really say anything about the long-term effects, but the girls’ fur has certainly improved. Since they are already very healthy, I don’t think I will notice much of the other effects, but of course good nutrients also ensure that my girls stay healthy.
I can therefore wholeheartedly recommend both products! The only thing I was missing was a scoop. It is clearly stated on the jars what amount the dog is allowed (how many teaspoons), but a teaspoon can vary quite a bit in size, depending on where you live in the world.
Both products are for sale through Borvo Nutrients themselves, they ship internationally. A jar costs €24, and I’ve been using it with five dogs for a few weeks now. The packaging of the pots is very solid, they are in a cardboard tube (see photo of Freyja) packed with shredded paper to protect the pots.
Fijn product!
De meiden vinden het heerlijk, dus ik zal zeker weer een paar potten bestellen als deze leeg zijn.
