Advertorial – This article contains advertisements for my own online basic dog photography course, which I offer through my company Dog Portrait.
Many of you probably already know this, but in addition to this blog, I am also a dog photographer by profession. As such, I have been giving workshops and courses on location for almost ten years, and for a few years now also online. Over the past few months I have been working hard on a new online Basic Dog Photography Course. Because I am very proud of it, I am putting it in the spotlight here on the blog! At the moment, the course is only available in Dutch, but I am reviewing options for translation.
Online Basic Dog Photography Course
In 2019 I started creating an online course for the first time, then hosted directly on my website. This spring I decided to make a new version, completely updated and expanded. A kind of version 2.0, so to speak. I have created this with a special host for courses, who also offer their own app. This means students of the course can now also follow the course in the app, super handy!
I have created eight modules, containing several chapters that (I think) cover the entire basics of photographing dogs:
- Intro, with program selection, file format and the built-in light meter
- Exposure triangle, about aperture, shutter speed and ISO
- White balance, focus and composition
- Before you start photographing, about communication, recognizing stress and using tools
- Seeing and using light, about studio photography, natural light, and photographing dark/light dogs
- Shooting action
- Post-processing in Photoshop and Lightroom
- Conclusion, with a portfolio review
In my opinion, all in all it is a very extensive course, which, as mentioned before, I am very proud of! Moreover, I have made a great online community, where questions can be asked and assignments can be shared. I will reward active participants in the community with a nice little gift every month, to further promote participation in the community. Cool, right?
If you are now thinking after reading this article: I want to do it too! Register immediately via this link, and if you use the code DOGBLOG10 you will receive a 10% discount on the course!
If you would like to get more information, that of course is also possible! You can read more about it here, but you can also send me a message or email with your questions. I’m happy to help!
Again, the course is only available in Dutch at the moment, but I am reviewing options for translation into English in the future.
