Autumn has started! And with that the time of yellow autumn leaves and inclement autumn weather, but also of pumpkins had come. I made Pumpkin Training Cookies for my dogs, and today I’m sharing the recipe here on the blog.
What do you need
- 400g Buckwheat flour
- 1 Pumpkin cooked in pieces and then pureed
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder for extra yellow color (optional)
- Water
- A silicone baking mat for dog biscuits (available from Collory and Amazon, among others)
What to do
- Preheat the oven to 130C
- Mix flour, oil, pumpkin puree and turmeric powder with the eggs, adding water as needed to get a batter with the consistency of pancake batter
- Spread the batter over the baking mat (this mix is enough to fill the mat about five times, you can of course use several mats, I used three and baked twice)
- Bake in about 50 minutes
- If the cookies are still moist after this, you can leave them in the oven at 50°C with the door slightly ajar for a few hours to dry out. You can then keep them longer.
- Let cool before serving 🙂
My girls loved the cookies! I always have a jar in the house for the moments when I want to reward them around the house, but I also always put a handful in my pocket for training and during walks. Omnomnom!
