What do you need
For about 32 cookies I used the following:
- 400g Buckwheat flour
- 100g Peanut Butter for Dogs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- Water
- Valentine cookie cutters (you can buy these from me through the DogStore Etsy shop)
What to do
Preheat the oven to 150C. Mix the flour, oil and peanut butter with the eggs, but keep a little bit of the flour aside for later. Add water until you get a malleable dough.
Roll out the dough thinly (about 4mm). Sprinkle it with a little flour to make it easier to cut out and get it out of your cutter, or put some cling film over it so that no dough sticks to your cutter while you cut. Cut out your cookies.
Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 25 minutes.
Let cool before serving 🙂
Decorating
For decoration I used:
- Two tablespoons of cornstarch
- A tablespoon of honey
- Dried coconut
- Half a teaspoon of beetroot powder
- Water
Preparation method:
Place the cornstarch in a large bowl. Add small amounts of water until you get a paste. Then add the honey and stir well. Also stir in the beetroot powder.
The result is somewhat thin, but should not be water-thin. Spread some of the mixture on your cooled cookie with a small spoon, and sprinkle some coconut on top. Let it harden in a cool place and serve!
