I recently made a Snuffle Ball for my girls, and at the same time made a photo tutorial for you!
What do you need?
- Fleece – I used 4 colours, 12 5x40cm strips of each colour. You can buy fleece at the fabric store, but also check out the thrift store in your area for fleece blankets that you can give a great second life!
- A Hol-ee Roller ball (I used an M)
What do you need to do:
- Cut the fabric into strips, you can make them as wide and long as you want, or keep the same measurements I used.
- Pass the strips through the openings in the ball, and tie a knot in them (a single knot is enough)
- Continue until you run out of strips, or until you think the ball is full enough
- That’s it!
What can you do with it?
Put kibble between the strips and let your dog sniff! Build it up slowly, don’t make it too difficult for your dog right away. For example, start with kibble that you simply put on top, and hide them deeper between the fleece as your dog gets better at it. Keep an eye on him while sniffing, if you notice that he is getting frustrated it is still a bit too difficult for him. Help him in that case, and make the snuffle ball a little easier next time.
